So, It's a.......

GIRL! We had our ultrasound today and found out that we will be adding a girl to our family. I must admit that I am a little slow to get used to the idea, because I was so sure that I was going to have another boy. I have always pictured myself with 3 little boys and now I just need to adjust my thinking. Luckily, I have 4 months to prepare. The boys are very excited! Now I guess I need to get some girl clothes in the house! This will be fun!

Great Wolf Lodge

Last week we took the boys to Great Wolf Lodge for a little getaway. We all had a great time. We played at the water park which was a pleasant 84 degrees. We played at the arcade and listened to a bedtime story down at the clock tower. The boys loved their special bunkbed area with their own TV. It is definitely a place we will go to again. (I was lazy and used a disposable camera for the pictures-hence the poor quality!)

Yoga

On Friday morning I taught a yoga class for the mom's group that I go to. I was a little nervous, but it turned out good. I think most of the participants enjoyed it, which is nice, since for many it was their first experience with yoga.

Today, I was doing a yoga pregnancy DVD and my 2 little buddies decided to join me. It was really sweet. O lasted about 10 minutes (he was also wearing his buzz lightyear outfit!) and D lasted about 25 minutes. It was a bit distracting, but enjoyable. They snacked on goldfish while doing their yoga.

Blue Face

I laughed about this story all day and had to share it with several of my patients, so I thought I'd share it with all of you. Last night about 9pm after the boys had been in bed for over an hour, we heard little feet coming down the hallway. As I looked to see who was coming, O turned the corner and his face was covered with blue marker. I said "what did you do?" in my stern voice and then had to immediately turn away from him. Billy was asking me, "aren't you going to do anything?" The problem was that I was laughing way too hard to act mad and couldn't let O see me laughing. So, after I composed myself, I then gave him a stern talking to about drawing on anything other than paper. Luckily, the marker washed off easily and we don't have to spend the next several days looking at his cute blue face.

7 Random Things About Me

I was tagged and have been tagged before, but have never actually gotten around to doing one of these before. I thought since I had a little time tonight I would give it a try.

1. My husband and I are going to take a 2 night trip to Bandon Dunes in April for a golfing trip before the baby comes in July. I know not many women would be excited to do this type of trip for their last outing alone together, but I'm the one who keeps pushing for it!

2. Every age that my kids get to, I think is my favorite, until they get a little older and I love that age more. I wonder if that will change after they hit their teenage years?

3. I loved living in England when we had the chance and would go back in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose again.

4. My favorite place to visit is Ireland.(lots of golfing and sightseeing and pubing and music there).

5. The place I want to visit most of all that I have never been to is Australia.

6. Currently my favorite treat are these big pickles. I wonder if that has anything to do with my current physical situation. I've never had that craving before in a pregnancy.

7. I'm amazed how easy it was to come up with this list.

Drumroll-The biggest family news of the year is that we will be having a baby-due July 9th. We just told the kids about it this weekend. D gave the cutest sheepish grin and O just kept playing with the puppy. That day, D and I had some cute conversations.

D-"How big is the baby?"
Me-"About this big"-showing him with the distance between my index finger and thumb
D-"What if she was this big, from the wall to the window, you would not be able to carry her" again with the sheepish grin

Me-"Do you want a brother or a sister?"
D-"I want a baby sister. No, it doesn't matter."

As I was putting him to bed that night, "I love you mommy and I love you baby (as he pats my belly gently)."

We have a doppler that we rented to listen to the baby's heartbeat throughout the pregnancy and now that I have shown it to the boys, we listen every night at their request. O has even started talking to my belly without any prompting. It is quite cute.

Christmas Day and our new puppy

So, wasn't this last couple of weeks interesting weather wise? We had more time at home than we were expecting and all got some cabin fever. On Tuesday, we spent a seven hour round trip drive to pick up our xmas puppy for the boys. A drive which under normal conditions should have taken 2 hours. A wonderful friend of ours drove us to get her in the horrible driving conditions. The boys were very cute when they saw her. D said, "Is that for us?" in a very sweet voice. They have enjoyed her, but the puppy training is going to be a challenge for us with no experience. Hopefully we get through it okay. On Christmas day, it took us about an hour to just get across town to my parents house between the chain falling off and the walk back to get it and parking 1/4 mile from their house and walking the rest of the way with all our snow gear on. But, despite the weather, it was a nice christmas and one we won't forget. I'm just happy today that we can easily leave our house again.
