My husband and I just spent 2 nights away from the boys. We played 54 holes of golf, had a couples massage and just spent some wonderful time together. It is what every set of parents need once in a while. It was great to get back and see the boys that I missed so much! D and I were then able to spend the morning putting together a "leaf" book (leaves taped to a homemade notebook).
We took the boys to get pictures last week. These pictures were taken on our way out the door and they were so cute, I just had to post them. They are both wearing their "Benny" shirts. For those of you unfamiliar, that would be from Benny the Jet from the movie Sandlot.
There is nothing cuter than your child on his first day of school for the year. My 4-year-old started his second year of preschool on Tuesday. I could tell that he was nervous, but excited. He walked right in and waved good-bye to us like an old pro.
Last weekend, we took the boys, along with my sister and her kids to the state fair. I haven't been to the state fair since at least sometime in high school. We decided not to introduce them to the carnival part of the fair, but stuck to the animals, food and shows and they couldn't have had more fun. At one point my 2-year-old saw a cow eating grass and was absolutely amazed by the sight, as well as the unknown to him sound of a moo. At that point I realized that my city boys needed to spend more time at grandma and grandpa's ranch with their animals! The kids all enjoyed the bountiful food that is available at a fair with sugary treats to end the day!
I am a working mom with 3 young children. I love being a mom and watching my children grow and change. They each challenge me in their own special way and I love them all for their unique personalities.
