First Day Of School

The first day of school for the boys was Wednesday. O starting 3-year-old preschool and D starting kindergarten in a dual immersion English-Spanish class. D was a bit nervous going to such a big school and had me hang around for a while. O, being a second child, promptly told Billy to leave (No problems there). When we picked them up from school, they both had a good time and were smiling. Yippee!

LOVE

I always have this small fear/panic that I can't possibly love my new baby as much as my other children before they are born. It's amazing how it only takes that first glimpse to know that's not true. Then, even more amazingly is how quickly that love can continue to grow with every day. Today was a great day!

Great family vacation

A last minute decision to go on a family trip before the end of the summer turned out to be just great! We stayed at a resort ranch with swimming, tennis, golf, bike paths and parks. We joined my parents and sister and 2 cousins there. It was so wonderful to get away from the everyday and just relax. We also had some fun milestones for the kids. O decided the 2nd day there that he would suddenly feel comfortable with his face submerged in the water and followed that quickly with swimming. He then informed us that he would like to ride his bike without training wheels. So the next day we removed his training wheels and off he went. Like usual, the hardest part is still starting and stopping, but he will have that down pat in no time I am sure. Another great feat was the 8 straight hours of sleep we got last night without interruption from the baby. Thank you! On the way home today, I just had to laugh as the boys sat in their seats in the car and discussed having a battle. They split up the teams into the big kids and the little kids and discussed where their friends fit in the categories. Then they discussed what weapons they would use, for example, water balloons. They also talked about D's plan on how he was going to beat O's team in the battle. Apparently we are going to have it at our house when D gets everyone over here. Ahhh, to be 5 again!

My younger brother got married yesterday, so we had several chances to get more dressed up photos. We even got a picture with the entire extended family.

This has been a very "lazy" summer. I put that it quotes because having a baby and living on little sleep isn't necessarily lazy. We just haven't done much this summer. The boys have seemed to have fun anyway just hanging out and playing with neighbor friends. And the littlest mate is busy growing and learning to smile.
