First of all, I'm not really sure how to start this blog. Yes, we had fun, but boy, oh, boy, did a lot of things go wrong! To start with, my 3 year old was sick with a fever almost the whole time we were gone, but had fun between doses of ibuprofen. When we got to the airport at 6:30 in the morning, we were told that our flight left at 6:40am (a time change) and we missed it. We then spent 5 hours in the airport waiting for the next flight with 1 very excited kid dying to get on the plane and 1 very sick kid. Considering this was only a 4-day trip, losing most of 1 day is significant. When we finally made it to Phoenix, we raced to our rooms, unpacked and ran out to play in the pool for as long as the sun was out. After returning to our rooms with the "full kitchens" we searched for any type of cooking wear, which there was barely any, and instead found a bong under the stove in my parent's room. Yes, that's right, a homemade bong in the room. Does it ever make you wonder how well they actually clean hotel rooms? We were offered new rooms, but by this point we were all too tired to repack, move rooms and unpack again, so we elected to stay put. Then, when we went to make the pull out beds in the 2 rooms, we only had bedding for 1 of them. So, back Billy went to the lobby for more bedding. The following day we learned that 1 of the sinks leaked clear out onto the floor when using it and there was what looked like dried blood on our comforter cover. Luckily, we spent most of the day at the pool enjoying the warmth and sun. When the hotel staff cleaned our rooms, they did not replace any of the normal items-shampoo, conditioner, soap, coffee, etc so we spent several more trips to the front desk for items. Now, the good news is that they comped our rooms the first day and we had free dinner on them at the restauant one night! Plus the weather was nice and we got to play in the pool a lot! Unfortunately on the last day, Billy thought it would be fun to also get sick (sore throat, sinus infection, throw up) and we got to travel home with him in that condition. So, there is our trip to Arizona. One of those, WE WILL NEVER FORGET THIS ONE trips! But, I already am missing the sun.
